Family Connection

The Family Connection program works to bring together local organizations, community leaders, and families to identify and address the needs of children and families in Elbert County. Our coalition develops and implements strategies to promote family well-being and improve outcomes for children, particularly in areas of health, education, and economic stability.

Key Focus Areas:

✓ Improving health and wellness in families
✓ Promoting educational success and school readiness
✓ Strengthening community resources

Parents as Teachers (PAT)

The Parents as Teachers program is an evidence-based home visiting model designed to help parents foster their child’s development from pregnancy through kindergarten. With personal home visits, developmental screenings, and access to resources, we help parents become confident and informed educators for their children.

Key Focus Areas:

✓ Personal Visits: Certified parent educators provide one-on-one support and activities that promote child development.
✓ Developmental Screenings: Regular assessments to ensure children are reaching key developmental milestones.
✓ Group Connections: Parents connect with other families to learn and grow together.
✓ Resource Network: We provide access to services that help families achieve their goals.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library

Through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, we provide free, high-quality books to children from birth to age five. Each child enrolled in the program receives a new book every month, fostering a love of reading and promoting early literacy.

Program Highlights:

✓ Eligibility: Children ages birth to five, living in Elbert County.
✓ Free Books: One book per month delivered directly to your home.
✓ How to Register: Fill out a registration form and start receiving books in 8-10 weeks.

Resilient Northeast Georgia

Resilient Northeast Georgia is a community-driven initiative focused on building resilience in families by fostering trauma-informed care and support. The program brings together local partners to address adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and create strategies to help children and families overcome challenges.

Program Focus Areas:

✓ Increasing awareness of ACEs and their impact on children and families
✓ Providing training and support for professionals working with families
✓ Promoting trauma-informed care in schools, health services, and community organizations
✓ Building family resilience through education, resources, and community connection
